Dear friends of Bach’s music

The city of Görlitz-Zgorzelec is looking forward to a very special event in 2012: it has been nominated to host the 87th Bach festival of “Germany’s New Bach society”, which was founded in 1900. Every year, the society brings the festival to different locations, whereby every 5 years it is traditionally held in Leipzig.

The theme of the 2012 Bach festival is detailed “Connected by our Bach” (Bach is German for water stream). Renowned international artists, numerous institutions of the two cities Görlitz and Zgorzelec and last but not least the different interpreters of Bach will make his works an exciting experience for the audience and illustrate the cultural variety of the region.

Different formats, not music exclusively, will invite visitors to approach the work of Johann Sebastian Bach from completely different perspectives.

Embark on an exciting journey to Bach and look forward to impressive moments at the Bach Festival 2012 in Görlitz.
